Prošlo je skoro tri decenije od kada su Jesper Balser, Peter Bang i Torben Wind osnovali kompaniju PC&C i pokrenuli razvoj jednog od najboljih ERP sistema današnjice, prvobitno nazvanog PC Plus, a ubrzo posle rebrendiranog kao Navision. Inspirisan blog postom mog kolege Miloša Rajčevića i wiki stranice Dynamics Users o istoriji Nav-a, rešio sam da vam predstavim ovaj odličan proizvod kroz hronološki pregled verzija i bitnih dogadjaja sa kratkim opisom funkcionalnosti koje su sa njima dolazile. Takodje, bez poznavanja istorije razvoja jedne platforme, teško možete odrediti u kom smeru će dalje ići njen razvoj i da li je ona vredna vašeg kapitala i vremena, što zaista mislim da Dynamics Nav jeste.

Doing business in the cloud is one of the most popular topics in the corporate world, and a growing number of companies are considering the possibility of transferring the existing software to the cloud. As a leader in information technology, Microsoft wanted to seriously address this issue, resulting in a large number of business services that are now offered.The best example is a new service named Office 365 that offers creation and editing of documents that are exchanged and stored safely in the cloud for a small monthly fee. Also, Microsoft Dynamics CRM is available for some time in the cloud, and in April this year Microsoft announced that all of the following editions of Dynamics ERP software familywill be compatible with Microsoft Azure platform. The benefits of moving can be huge compared to existing solutions, and I’ll go through those that are most important for new companies that want to introduce NAV to their business.

Test drive: MS Dynamics NAV 2009 R2
In my previous blog post i talked about main advantages of Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP system and the architecture on which it is based. Since then there have been some major changes, of which perhaps the most important to the Serbian market is a new localized version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV. This is the 2009 R2 version, which has been available for foreign markets for some time, and brings many improvements and new functionalities. Below I will present some of the most important features in my opinion, as well as a brief how-to install the demo version which can now be freely downloaded from the Microsoft site.
